John is a holder of a BA (Hons.) degree in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Nairobi. He is also an alumnus of the East African Uongozi Institute located at the University of Dar es Salaam. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management from the Kenya Institute of Management and is currently pursuing an MA (International Studies) from the University of Nairobi. John worked for the New Sudanese Indigenous NGOs Network as an Advocacy/Lobby and Research Officer at a crucial time when Southern Sudanese civil society was involved in complimentary efforts that led to the signing of the Sudan Comprehensive Peace Agreement of 2005.

Before it became an autonomous organisation, John worked in the RBC project since 2004. Having worked directly with development practitioners in the Horn and East Africa region, he has experience and specialist knowledge in project development/management, peace building, conflict management, advocacy/lobby and civil society networking.
